But all they would do was argue and I believed he was infatuated (however its spelt) or lustful,
the thing is I don’t believe someone can love someone that they BARELY know so it creeped both of us out.
He is really down on himself and is one of the most known guys but no one knows the real him,

he is always saying "I hate myself. I don’t deserve my life. I could go kill someone. Please go kill me." Etc, you get the point.
She put up with this for 3 months and every day thought about breaking up with him,
I told her it needed to be done so she could be happy (Because she was miserable)

Now, since he’s the hott sutff in the school, people won’t stop saying "It’s all your fualt he’s miserable" and "What a bitch how could you do this to him?"
& the classic, "What did he ever do to you?"

She was very nice about how she dumped him too..
What advice can I give her?

its good that she dumped him…it would have been worse if she stayed with him. ppl need to mind there own bussiness cuz they dont know what is going on.

You can answer this with a little thought. What happens if v = 0? What happens if hold something up with a string dangling down and you let go? It falls. Due to what?

Now think about the bottom of the motion, hanging from a string. Doesn’t matter that v = 0, right?

But some things seem pointless from an evolutionary standpoint. How does one explain why man finds pleasure in the beauty of flowers, or nature? What evolutionary purpose does this enjoyment of beauty afford? To those who believe in God such appreciation of beauty is reasonable, as something God has endowed us with, as he also finds joy in beauty. It is part of the eternal nature of God and man. But how do those who don’t believe in God explain it?
Stricken: Bees spread pollen, which are not seeds, so don’t widen the flower’s range. The question is why do we like flowers?

Maurog: If it were a neutral fluke we would not expect it to be almost universal.

James: I’m not asking about consciousness, but an inborn human characteristic. If it doesn’t “analyze well” it means we are trying to use the wrong theory to explain the facts. So you are saying, in effect, that the theory of evolution can’t explain “lots of stuff,” ergo, evolution is a dog that won’t hunt.

Reaper: So you are saying evolution brought us to the point that we self drug ourselves, deceiving ourselves in the proper perception of reality, so that we can be simultaneously induced into a more stable frame of mind and stimulated mentally?

Why shouldn’t humans enjoy EVERY aspect of their environment? If evolution is going to explain why we are the way we are it must explain everything.

Joe Friday: But this doesn’t answer my question. What are the side benefits of an appreciation of beauty?

Randy: How can someone give a gift that he doesn’t have, and cannot even imagine having? The mind has no such power. I fail to see a connection between my love of flowers and a bee searching for honey. Why did the Greeks think what they did about beauty, and why is the appreciation of a flower such as the rose held by every culture?

O’Keefe: Flowers look like sex organs? We all like looking at sex organs? These assertions are not true f
for anyone I know, but then my acquaintances don’t spend a lot of time looking at pornography. Flowers come months before the food comes, and doesn’t help us find the food. I don’t know anyone for whom flowers induce logical problem solving. I see no connection between enjoying flowers, or beauty in general, and intuition.

Diogenes: But bilateral symmetry is not typical of flowers. Many flowers, for example, have five petals. Fitness rarely has anything to do with beauty. Some of the toughest, hardiest plants are the ugliest. Often it is the fragility that conveys a sense of beauty. I see no beauty in slight differences, nor would the ability to see such differences lead us to the opposite conclusion of generalization. “Magically” is a loaded word; can you not see how traits such as an appreciation of beauty could be passed down genetically, and do you not know that we are the offspring of God? Whether by God or by evolution is not material to the existence of the apprecia
appreciation of the beauty of flowers, but it is relevant to the existence of God.

Bruce: It is interesting how many ad hoc explanations can be generated for a simple question, but none of them strike me as the least bit convincing.

BibleCho: (1) I can see that color sensing, shape recognition, and a sense of smell are advantages to survival in and of themselves, so why the need to take pleasure in particular colors, shapes or smells? Why do we often most enjoy the flowers that are the least useful for food or other material comfort? (2)There is a disadvantage to loving plants that compete for soil, nutrients, sunlight, and space which have no intrinsic value other than the sheer beauty of them. So, you are thinking that such a complicated thing as the love of the beauty of flowers is just incidental to an ability to see colors, recognize shapes, and smell? If you programmed a robot to do these tasks a love of beauty would not go along with it.

It is conceivable that we have the capacity for such appreciation merely as a way to make us more inclined to care for the natural environment that we need to survive. Fruit trees and berry bushes have flowers that give rise to nourishing fruits. It’s clearly to our material benefit to favor such plants.

I think my suggestion is conceivable, but for such a complicated fondness for flowers to develop by adaptation alone seems to me to be just not reasonable. The problem with godless evolution proposals is that FAR too many things just have to work out well, with no intention whatsoever, for the theories to be satisfactory.

I believe God is the only true cause for the existence of anything.
I am certain that He created life, and that he sustains it.
I don’t know how God does these things.
Maybe He used some sort of process of evolution.
With God, some theories of Evolution are reasonable.
Without God, the theories all are woefully inadequate.
