how good are jura capresso refurbished coffee machines?

Are Jura Capresso refurbished coffee machines any good?

They are good machines and it depends on whether the refurbishing was well done and which model you are talking about. Some models sell for over $2000 and often a refurbished product is almost as good as new.

How do those coffee bean grinder machines work?

Filed under: Coffee machines — admin @ 7:25 pm

I like coffee, and would like to try grinding my own beans at home. But do the hand-held bean grinders work? And are some brands better than others?

Thanks,

I have never used the hand held kind, but I have had my electric coffee grinder for about 6 years now and it works great. It is a little black BrAun grinder, and I believe it cost about $20 or $25 dollars at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. My mom has a Krups brand that also worked fine. I wouldn’t get one of those coffee makers that have a grinder in them, only because they are a pain to clean. They work great, but I got rid of mine just because of how tough and complicated it was to clean.

Opinions on Single Brew Coffee Machines?

Filed under: Coffee machines — admin @ 4:00 am

We are interested in one of those single brew coffee makers like Tassimo, Keurig or Cuisinart. We have compared the Keurig and Tassimo and it seems like people prefer the quality and taste of the Tassimo and others prefer the variety of the Keurig. From what we researched it looks like the Cuisinart offers the intelligence similar to the Tassimo and the variety of the Keurig, as it supposedly fits the Keurig flavor thingies.
So I’m wondering if anybody has experiences with either one of those machines and has any suggestions for me. What are the pros and cons of those machines?
Thanks

I have the Keurig and my family absolutely loves it but we prefer regular flavored coffee without all the whipped stuff; so if you prefer fancier coffee you may want to get the Tassimo. But if you want coffee that’s easy to find I recommend the Keurig because you can find it’s coffee anywhere whereas the Tassimo discs seem to be harder to find (at least where I live). No matter which machine you choose though you’re sure to save money compared to a coffee house =)

How much do those heavy state-of-the-art coffee machines cost that you see at Starbucks?

Filed under: Coffee machines — admin @ 4:21 am

I’m thinking of getting one.

Cost would depend on the size, and whether it’s new or used. New they are pricey, especially the 1.5 gallon or 3 gallon units with vessels. Used, they can be reasonable. There are some deals on eBay if you research the product and wait for a good deal.

Starbucks tends to use Fetco systems that brew 1.5 gallons or 3 gallons into a Fetco vessel. They make systems that will brew two vessels simultaneously. They also make smaller units that will brew into pump pots – about 1/2 gallon.

If you are lucky, you could get the winning bid for a system. You might be able to find a complete double brewing system with two 1.5 gallon vessels for $500-$1000. Shipping could be costly, but you’ll have to check. Sometimes dealers will kick in free shipping.

Something else for you to consider is your electrical supply. Fetco systems require a lot of electricity to heat water instantly. You would need commercial wiring for the bigger units, a certified electrician would have to build a line for you, so figure that into your cost.

If you want to search online, search under Fetco coffee, and you will see multiple listings. Sometimes they can be found locally on Craigslist under business or general, search under
Fetco coffee. If one can be found locally, you won’t have to pay for shipping.

What could be a scource of information about coffee or coffee machines?

coffeeforums.co.uk/ is the one I use most regularly. The people there are very helpful and won’t bite your head of for asking dumb questions – unlike some other forums.

can anyone give me some more information about coffee machines and espresso machines?

Filed under: Coffee machines — admin @ 8:56 pm

here is the sort of guidelines that i have been given.
Good quality espresso machine that is capable of producing a perfect shot of espresso and has a steam wand to texture the milk.
i just need some general information that follows the above statement.
thankyou.

Super automatic espresso machines have steam wands and make quality espresso shots without requiring sophisticated skills. If you regularly enjoy Starbucks or other quality shops’ coffee, you’ll get coffee drinks that are every bit as good, and the savings can soon come to pay for the machine. Super-autos do not tie you to expensive pods from a single source, and they do not require advanced skill or patience to operate. Add whole beans and the machine does the rest.

Alternatives to Super Auto Espresso Machine:

If you’re into the art of making espresso and wish to exert more control over the process, you can move down the automation line:

1. Super Automatic: Add whole beans. Press one button. Drink.
2. Automatic: Add ground beans. Tamp. Press one button. Clean portafilter. Drink.
3. Semi-Automatic: Add ground beans. Tamp. Turn knob to start/stop brew cycle. Clean portafilter. Drink.
4. Manual (Piston): Add ground beans. Tamp. Use lever to control pressure and time. Clean portafilter. Drink.

Note that manual (piston) machines can actually be more expensive than semi-automatics. Note also that while there’s a lot more work in the less automatic approaches, sophisticated users prefer the additional control. In most cases, a skilled barista can produce the best coffee with the manual or even semi-automated machines, but less sophisticated users will get the best results from the super autos. (The user is in control of pressure and water flow in the manual machines, and water flow in the semi-autos.)

Keurig coffee machines overall satisfaction ?

Filed under: Coffee machines — admin @ 10:59 pm

I love coffee esp Starbucks cAfe mochas. How satisfied are you with your keurig machine? Does the coffee compare to a Starbucks espresso?

The convenience of the thing is the deal. I have never had, nor will I ever have a Starbuck’s anything. We have 4 Keurig machines, and are pleased with the variety of coffee and tea. Whatever you do, though, don’t let the machine freeze in a vacation home with no heat.
