Congressman Frank stated Tuesday to Fox News that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should be abolished. Mr. Frank went on to say that Fannie and Freddie had been subsidizing the mortgage market for decades and that if Americans want subsidized housing we will have to do it in the Light of Day instead of using quasi-gov. entities.
Finally some agreement. Its about time.

He cannot be trusted.

We had been together for almost 3 years. We broke up in March of this year mutually. She is 8yrs my junior and we felt that we were at different points in our life. I still loved her but I was getting frustrated at carrying most of the expenses and her lack of desire on choosing a career. In other words she was getting too comfortable. While we were together she always said she wanted to remain friends if we ever broke up and I am the complete opposite, No contact. Well there was no contact for about three months. She called me out of the blue and we proceeded to talk for almost 2hrs. Nothing too deep, just catching up on each others lives. She had gotten a new job that would hopefully lead to a career, got a new apartment and a new BF. I was a little crushed but didn’t let on at all. I left the conversation saying I was really happy for her and I always knew she could do it. Again no contact on my part was established and I continued to focus on my job and casual dating as I was not ready for a commitment after three years in a relationship. Then like clock work every month she would call. I would not answer the first few calls but then they became persistent and I thought she might be in trouble. The problem is I do still love her and I would like to rekindle the relationship. Then in September her BF apparently assaulted her, not sure to what extent or if it’s even true. Needless to say I thought he was out of the picture. She told me she missed me and wanted to get back together and move in with me "WTF". I was hesitant to jump right back in even though I did care for her deeply. I had recently moved into a new house with a roommate and was not comfortable obliging to her request. I told her we could take it slow and try. During September I went and seen her three times had sex once and we talked on the phone regularly. Things were progressing nicely I thought. One day she calls me and says she is taking her ex bf back but she still wants to be friends. I absolutely lose it call her every name in the book, I tell her that I will always love her and if she ever comes to her senses call me but until then to leave me the F*** alone. I don’t know what she is thinking with this guy. Is she afraid of him? does she actually love him? does she not believe she can get me back? Thing is I still love her and I’m worried for her. That was at the start of October. One month later a call from a private number. Guess who. wanting to be friends. This time I was still drunk from the night before and professed my love for her and told her if she didn’t want me, to leave me alone. I’t hurt too much to hear her voice. Every time I was just about over her, she would call again and pull those heart strings. She called yesterday, I did not answer. Voice mail saying that she missed me and wanted to talk. I didn’t reply. Phone call this morning no voice mail no reply. I was with her for almost 3yrs, I still love her but I’m not sure what to do. any advice good or bad is welcome. You say you are worried about her, yet you do not answer her calls. Some of what is happening with her is probably just the fact that she is young – you don’t say how old either of you are. When you get involved with someone that much younger you can expect that goals and values might be a bit different. The point is that you say you care for her. If you care for her, answer her calls as a friend and stay on that basis. You should not be sleeping with her without committment – you are old enough to know that. Her calls to you may be cries for help. This is probably not what you want to hear, but she may even see you as a father figure, especially if a father figure was absent or uninvolved or abusive in her life. For her, you may be her safe place. If you don’t want to continue at all then you just need to tell her, not by losing it and yelling at her, but by a rational and reasonable conversation. The bottom line is that you cannot change who she is, and you cannot make her be like you want her to be.
